The system load is pretty high at the moment, due to 2,000 new signups today and we're co-incidentally in the middle of transferring our file storage to Amazon S3 (it's been transferring all day). So, sorry for the current slowdown, that should speed back up again once this transfer has finished - plus, you might encounter problems with some recent images not being visible - that will also correct itself (though it make take a few hours for the queue to catch up).
