@RussellTheFox keep a place in your heart for snouts. it would be a mistake to try to find the same vibe again, but remember it and try to spread it in other communities.

bad actors will always be present, but i believe the best things we can do to counter them are:

1) be ourselves, and be strong together
2) have a strong, experienced moderation team with excellent communication and de-escalation skills
3) silence dangerous instances to protect users, and warn others

I made some amazing friends because of this place, I ended up understanding myself better because of the folks here, I became more comfortable questioning a lot of things I stuffed away and even realized I was asexual because of my time here.

I could easily make a rant post about why I’m upset snouts ended up in this position but that’s not even relevant anymore. Y’all got what you want.

Despite what the majority of fedi will say, snouts was a good place.

It feels like a lot of people on this website take joy in constantly aggroing people and I'm sorry to say that that doesn't make me feel any safer as a POC. De-escalate. Stop making everything a war. And STOP bringing up POC/ racism when issues don't even involve us. Cut that shit out.

I don't know if it's worse to believe the people saying "It's fine actually to harass your userbase" are saying it in good faith, or to believe they're saying it in bad faith and are actually aware of how batshit it sounds

It's a pretty straightforward process:

1. On your new account, select the option of "Moving from a different account" and add your old account there to create an alias

2. On your old account, select "Move to a different account". Put in your new account as well as your password. Once you confirm, all your old followers will automatically be added!

Im going to always remember snouts for the good and bad times, I had a place where I could have friends that supported me.

Those times are gone. Im sad, Im tired, but Im going to never forget the memories I made here.
