Destiny 2's Festival of the Lost opened on a surprisingly mournful note. I like that they're at least pushing you to do ~something~ beyond just: go play the game but with a mask that doesn't have any light level, but it still feels like they've mostly jettisoned the cartoonish halloween-y vibe from Destiny 1, which is a bit of a disappointment.
@bombsfall god, yes. This and Propagandhi have been keeping me afloat today.
The writers are really adept at using those ignored messages, pauses, and inside jokes to give you a pretty solid sketch of those relationships, which can't help but inform the kinds of decisions I'm making in the moment.
I'm not super deep into Life is Strange 2 yet, but what I've seen so far is really promising. One thing I really like about both games is that at the start, you can open the protagonist's phone and see a whole long history of text messages between them and NPCs you've met once or haven't met yet.
Starting Monday morning with Young Thug singing over Elton John seems like a great way to set the bar well out of reach for the other days this week.
A thing that happened in Frozen Synapse 2 the other night: sonata incursion pops up, but another faction gets there just before I can, so intercept the squad, ask nicely for the relic. They tell me to go to hell, and it's my six member team vs. one lonely pistol unit. On my way back to base, we're intercepted by two other factions also trying to get the relic. I manage to get home with just one unit left standing and heave a genuine sigh of relief.
