The discriminatory SB 147 has moved into the TX House. We are protesting against it this morning outside the office of state Sen. Lois Kolkhorst who authored this racist bill. Any law that takes away rights from one of our communities takes away rights from us all. #TXLege #AAPI

TX Senate Bill 147 disallows non-citizens from China, North Korea, Iran and Russia from owning personal property. This bill will strongly affect the AA community's green card holders, asylum seekers and those waiting for their naturalization. TX GOP Sen. Kolkhorst said she filed it out of fear that Chinese buying up vast amounts of land. Governor Abbott has vowed to sign it.
