I want to be an organizer that helps unlock the talents buried in the church and transfer that wealth, unfettered, into the hands of these queer individuals to use how they best see fit.
And bc my life is accelerating as I prepare to turn 40 in 2023, and I have less and less time to listen to prophecy, I'm going to focus on finding and listening to (and being convicted by) the young, queer prophets of the communities that stood against the empire.

Time to hand the reigns back to the judges.

So I'm not pushing a list of books or films or anything for 2023, bc this is a year I'm going to spend hunting, seeking, listening, and organizing for the ministers who must inherit the pulpits if the church is going to have any kind of witness. There are billions of dollars tied up in institutions that exist only to protect themselves.
I'm done going to conferences headlined by the Barbara Brown Taylors and Brian McLarens and, yes, the NBWs or other darlings of the institutional church. I love and adore their contributions and I honor their work but I've *heard* their witness. A lot.
And I'm done participating in any conference or national setting work that isn't hyper-focused and fiscally beholden to finding, centering, and fully funding (with actual money) the ministries of the prophets I mentioned above.

If I'm being totally honest the only "clergy voices" that I need and want to hear from - at this stage in my faith journey - are young, queer prophets from communities of color - who have the lived experience of prophesying in Ferguson, Portland, Standing Rock, Minneapolis...

People of God who went toe-to-toe with the powers and principalities and who were named and called out by God to prophesy.
