In other potentially controversial polarizing decisions, is it ok to start Christmas before Thanksgiving?

Excluding retail of course, I mean putting up the tree or decorating before Thanksgiving—I’ve encountered some strong opinions on it, like wearing white after Labor Day or putting cheese on apple pie. What do you think?
