This is an actual ad for Heineken now. I love honest marketing, it does taste like ass.
@notjustbikes don't get me wrong, Zaanstad has sense of place places and Amsterdam has areas with less sense of place. But overall it's pretty noticable, just outside Amsterdam, that even neighborhoods quite close to Zaandam centre were built in another more car centric time (60s and 70s), with less attention to the sense of place.
@notjustbikes The last point, not thinking about roads, but thinking about a string of places stuck me a true, and I realise it is putting words in as an explanation of why I like riding trough Amsterdam better than my native suburb Zaanstad. In my more familiar but more car centric Zaanstad I navigate way more thinking about streets, while in Amsterdam way more about neighborhoods or landmarks I'm passing.
@notjustbikes They are probably trying to cite (or parrotting people who are improperly citing) two or three incidents reported by AT5 that have been brought up by right wingers in city hall. Those are clearly incidents. One was due to a technical malfunction, the others due to general traffic, iirc, which might be related to the knip complexly.
@notjustbikes Kattenburgerstraat has never been a quiet street. It probably has been busier, especially the first few days. But the delta is probably way lower than the loudness of the protests would suggest. It probably just mostly political tribalism, they are (P/F)V(V)(D) (the vroom vroom parties) shills.
@notjustbikes Size of the country, metro area and suburban sprawl does make the amount of work to be done bigger, but not harder.
