Trump celebrates death of Robert Mueller, ex-FBI director who investigated Russian interference in 2016 election - Lemmy.World

President Donald Trump celebrated the death of Robert Mueller, the former FBI director and special counsel who investigated Russian interference in the 2016 election [https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/robert-mueller-donald-trump-russia-investigation-latest-william-barr-a8836351.html], saying, “Good, I’m glad he’s dead.” Mueller, a career prosecutor and veteran of the Vietnam War, died at 81 years old Friday, his family confirmed. While Mueller had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2021 [https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/robert-mueller-parkinsons-disease-trump-fbi-b2817596.html], his family did not say how he died.

The irony. The “I can’t breathe while I’m working crowd” refuses to wear masks when ordered to, then refuses to unmask, and then have to be ordered to unmask.

They have a problem with orders.

Barring any issues with a kid outside of a parent’s control, this is what one should hope for a kid:

Top of the list: Love, safety, food, etc., the basics, and a lack of judgement for *personality or other orientation. That’s 90% of it.

Teach your kid right from wrong not by command or dogma, but by example.

Teach your kid how to learn, and teach them directly as needed.

*I don’t have the vocabulary in my head, but the gist I’m after is not trying to cram a kid into your mold. Sexual orientation-wise, how they dress, what jobs or careers are acceptable, sports… Let them be who they are as long as there’s no harm.

Yeah, but the shitshow is so much worse elsewhere so we admire yours.
Pity we can’t spread it around. I know it’s gonna be another hot summer, but I’m tired pf sub-freezing temps.
Real life consequences.

Awesome.

Pity there weren’t Lego with words like “freedom” and other positive words that could be visible in the pile below.

I tend to not block instances FWIW. I have blocked several communities and found that it works pretty well. For now, browsing /all in lemmy is my preferred view because we just don’t have that many people to keep content coming in the communities I have subscribed to. Plus, it’s more fun to see the variety. Lemmy is small enough still where it’s easier to “opt-out” than there is a need to “opt-in” to limit the noise.
As an American I feel exactly the same. There absolutely were holdouts of racism, but I felt we were moving forward and leaving them behind. Obama’s presidency set the stage, then trump and covid set everything on fire and the mask came off. “Draining the swamp” just meant revealing the scum at the bottom of it. I was shocked at how many racist, petty, selfish, aggressively ignorant people there are in the US.

A bunch of people print a lot of dust collectors. All stuff downloaded and printed that don’t amount to any more than toys or novelties. IMO it’s a waste and just ends up in the recycle stream - if recyclers will even process it. But people gonna do what they’re gonna do.

If you learn how to do some 3D modeling to make things you want and can use, then IMO it’s worth it. I’ve printed a ton of things, everything from repair parts for luggage, PC parts, to designing my own toolbox organizers.

My printing tends to go in waves, the printer sits idle for maybe a month or two, but then I’m printing for a week straight.
