You have a poor memory of 16 years ago. As I said, the Dems were never as monolithic as the Reps. They never marched in lockstep, and never were capable of it. Manchin is an absolutely prime example of that. Your "all they needed" was something unachievable from the get-go.

I knew as soon as I read it that the Jackpot in Wlliam Gibson’s Pripheral series was more real and more likely than any techno-utopian or techno-apocalyptic Singularity.

@firebreathingduck @benroyce Third party is useless unless built up local to county to state before national. Without that it’s useless without ranked choice vote. In every other circumstance, it’s only a spoiler against the party it’s closest aligned to.
