Who could tell I am a fan of system design? I completed my collection thanks to @manuelvicnt and his excellent “Mobile System Design interview”. When I used to be one of the main interviewers of system designs, this would have recalled me accurate good practices #mobilesystemdesign
Here we go again, let’s refresh those Android little things. Thanks for this comprehensive summary @github_skydoves ! I got my digital Manifest Android Interview copy for my classic kindle 🤓
This very old friend has been handy to my assignments on my teaching master’s. I am enjoying teaching kotlin with my didactic materials. Not only in conferences for now. Would you be interested in this journey at any conference at all? I even created a mock podcast #teaching
More often than I used to I am puzzled with some feedback I received just from a primary conversation with recruiters. Things like you’re overqualified for this role, we are looking for profiles with more exposure on applications at scale, we hire in London only… (continues)

Some professional news here, today marks the end of an incredible chapter, it’s been my last day at Zendesk.

While I didn’t expect to be part of a layoff, I’m leaving with my head held high and my heart full: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/raulhernandezl_layoffs-android-leadership-activity-7328463746933116929-oZcy

Today marks the end of an incredible chapter, it’s been my last day at Zendesk. While I didn’t expect to be part of a layoff, I’m leaving with my head held high and my heart full. The past three years have been filled with growth, learning, and collaboration. I joined as a Staff Android Engineer on the SDKs team, building features our customers loved, Multi Conversations being a personal highlight, given I worked with incredible members who made my journey very interesting. From there, I was promoted to Senior Staff Engineer, and with that I became Zendesk’s first Group Tech Lead for Messaging Experience / Mobile. It was a journey I never anticipated, but fully embraced. This past year in particular stretched and inspired me. I had the opportunity to lead across Android, iOS, and Unity SDKs, as well as multiple mobile apps (Support, Sell, and more). The work was challenging, but incredibly rewarding thanks to the brilliant people I collaborated with Tech Leads, Senior Leaders, Engineering Managers, Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, and fellow Group Tech Leads amonst others. Together, we tackled tough problems, broke down silos, and helped our teams grow and thrive. I’m proud of what we accomplished, and especially of the working relationships built along the way. Thank you to everyone who made this journey so meaningful, both for the conversations, the trust, the shared wins, and even the bumps we learned from. I'm excited (and yes, a little nervous) about what’s next, but definitely walking away grateful. For now, I’ll take a break to focus on my Master’s in Teaching, and I’ll start considering new opportunities in November. If you can wait for a seasoned engineer, don’t hesitate to reach out. Let’s stay connected. 💙❤️‍🔥 #layoffs #android #leadership #gratitude #mobileengineering #zendesk #collaboration #growth

What a seasoned android engineer does these days to prepare for a job interview? I haven’t prepared for this in years. Happy to learn from you ✍️ thanks in advance! #maytheforcebewithyou
When in Madrid airport: 1) random check to you 2) your luggage check because according to them “the liquids measure can’t be checked with the machine”. Oh well, in Canada, US or UK, this wasn’t needed. Security: this is because we have EU regulations. Me: well, in Germany all good, this machine is 💩
