It is with great sadness that I am doing what I would once have thought unthinkable. Following Salim Abdool Karim's superb Faraday Lecture 10 days ago, i have decided to return my own Faraday prize, awarded in 2014.

The silence of the Royal Society in the face of Elon Musk's rampage (a member of the RS since 2018) across US science is incomprehensible to me.

We must all draw the line somewhere in the face of authoritarian attacks and this is mine.

The next page in the #phishing site chain is handmadeharbor.info. It shows an obviously fake #DeutscheBahn promotion offer That page then redirects you to a form where you are asked to put in credit card details.

As handmadeharbor.info is shielded by Cloudflare, I just submitted an abuse report to @cloudflare

Automated Cloudflare response: "We were unable to confirm phishing at the URL(s) provided"

You gotta be kidding me, Netlify.

I just wanted to report a fraudulent phishing website hosted on netlify.app but my email was classified as spam by their email provider, Google.
I guess that happened because the email contained suspicious URLs - which are surprisingly common in abuse reports.

Here's the URL in question, by the way. It forwards to a different website.

Die AfD hat sich seit ihrer Gründung stetig weiter radikalisiert. Obwohl sie mitregieren will, mäßigt sie sich nicht - und wird von ihren Wählern in ihrem Kurs bestätigt. Gemäßigtere wurden rausgedrängt.

I didn't know

When I learned about the holocaust as teenager in Germany, many people from the Nazi era were still alive and lived all around me. Being the curious person I always was, I asked them about what happened and their role in it.

"I didn't know" was the boilerplate answer. And as they were relatives and friends, I believed them at first.

Then in 1981 we got a new teacher for history and he exposed the lie. Or more precise: he got us exposing those lies.

@grepular Otherwise, it works as expected. My self-hosted SOGO groupware triggers the 'video poster' test on loading the email message, and a few others when forwarding it.
