To the Wonder, a 2024 cdrama. First ten minutes are already beautiful. Only eight episodes. I should stop posting before I finish a new drama, but I love being surprised after clicking on a thumbnail — although I had a feeling. Look at the thumbnail:
Clicked on Echo, a 2023 Chinese mystery drama with only 13 episodes. Less than one minute in, my expectations are high. The cinematography is film-worthy. Starts with a close-up shot of a wide stream with rocks and pulls back slowly to behind a long-haired woman who stands in silhouette against a waterfall. From the next shot where the woman’s face is revealed and she turns her head at something unknown, the acting’s probably going to be ace. I hope the story matches the visuals.
I’ve revisited kdrama this week. Started rewatching Reborn Rich. The early episodes were the strongest. The last two were the weakest. The young actor portraying the ML as a boy is excellent. Lee Sung Min as the grandfather and patriarch is phenomenal. A nuanced, mesmerizing tour de force. Worth watching for his portrayal alone.
Guardians of the Dafeng. Dylan Wong. A costume cdrama. Three episodes uploaded on WeTV. Feeling neutral after watching the first episode. Not sure why it hasn’t drawn me in. It has all the right elements. Will give it another shot later.
Found it. Under the Microscope.
