39yo anarchist gamer trans girl 🏳️‍⚧️

This is basically a secondary account where I vent about things I can't do in my main one because I'm closeted and scared as fuck about all of this gender thing.

I love cats, videogames, cartoons, anime and sci fi.

I think I should migrate now, as .social is becoming more and more an undesirable place to be. I don't dislike Eugen but i really disagree with some decisions and we are starting to see the effects of these decisions.
Going to migrate to @maho in a while, I barely use this because of how many hashtags I follow (so I don't read the people I follow) and how much noise there is in the local TL. I hope I'll be more active there (and I really really love Maho Hyajo and I'm still undecided on a proper name or nickname for myself). I'm thinking about unlinking once the migration is done and keeping this just for following these tags without cluttering the new one.
Seriously thinking about migrating to another Mastodon account and leaving this only for following hashtags, there should be separate tabs for "people you follow/hashtags you follow", or implemented as default lists or something, can't even read the people I follow right now, and for the same reason I'm barely active...

FINALLY. The Spanish self-id based gender recognition law has been published and starts being applied tomorrow. #EsLey #EsLeyTransLGTBI #EsLeyTrans (link to the law in Spanish) https://boe.es/diario_boe/txt.php?id=BOE-A-2023-5366
BOE-A-2023-5366 Ley 4/2023, de 28 de febrero, para la igualdad real y efectiva de las personas trans y para la garantía de los derechos de las personas LGTBI.

I find it interesting how (at least in my perception) most of the retrocomputing/retrogaming community is either extremely bigoted or extremely queer, with just a few outlier normies in between.

If you want to help trans people, and you work in tech: think about how your product handles names and genders. Can users change them? Is it a self-service? Do traces of the old name remain?

Then, fix it. Push back against resistance. Advocate for us.

It won't fix bigotry, or healthcare access, or w/e. But updating our details is a process full of hurdles that we have to go through at a really vulnerable point in our lives, and you can make a small improvement for a large number of us.
