A journalist is writing a story about the trend I've talked about before -- defamation threats and lawsuits against women telling #metoo type stories of their experiences.

The journalist is interested in talking to people who've received such threats. If anyone is interested email me. I can put you together with the journalist. I've talked to her and she's serious about the story and has a good outlet for it.

A specter is haunting Iran – the specter of revolution. The Islamic Republic of Iran is experiencing the largest, most radical & most intense opposition movement in its 43-year history. Its motto is “Woman, Life, Freedom,” coined from the Kurdish movement. At least 500 people have been killed in nationwide protests since last year, about 20,000 arrested & at least four of them have been executed – numerous others could still follow.

Many of the conservatives who are pushing hardest for book bans in public schools homeschool their kids or send them to private schools.

They still push for this because destruction of public schools as an engine of egalitarianism, democracy and social mobility serves their larger ideological goals of having an unequal society with "good people" like them at the top, served by exploited and ignorant poor underneath.

It's great watching Twitter implode, flat out go myspace in the course of a couple weeks...

But it's sad to know that most independent reporter's, street activist news, and riot updates are going to be put behind a paywall. As well as targeted by federal agencies....
