Who really owns these lands? Whose efforts went down the drain? How many livelihoods were lost because of false promises? How were properties transferred year after year?
We may never really know!
But there were also the tales of slavery and misery, (the likes of Paradesi), bringing in havoc to the lives of millions of laborers.
And the tales these lands carry are overwhelming! If India is one of the largest producers of tea today, Of course, it was because the Britishers envisioned the soil to be eminently suitable for cultivation and making India a close competition to China.
Emotionally drained.
