I would always rather be fishing.

I do 3D animation for fun in my spare time.

In the new issue of my "Our Land" newsletter:
How the GOP has played the race card with a train wreck—and how this fits into the right's effort to concoct and exploit a white working-class populism that melds economic anxiety and racial grievance.
Plus Dumbass Comment of the Week (ScottAdams), and more!

Vladimir Putin is a murderous thug who launched a war in Ukraine a year ago to steal Ukrainian sovereignty and end their democracy by committing mass murder and terrorizing destruction. But sure, tell me again how Zelensky and the Ukrainians should negotiate for peace with him.

The power structure at Fox called it "respecting" the audience when they stoked its false and pathetic belief in a stolen election.

"Showing 'respect' to viewers by actively misinforming them," as Stelter put it, may stop them from raging at you.

But it is not the behavior of a news company. 15/

Seriously tho, they're gonna boot so many accounts, and such a large fraction of them are not going to return, it's gonna put rocket fuel under all the other platforms.

Other than actually pulling the plug on the servers, I'm not sure I could come up with a faster way for Twitter to end itself than annihilating the content creators' ability to use that platform and link out to any other sites.

And to do it all in one go! lmaooooo

I'm still furious about this. I assure you that the FBI still has agents investigating crimes against children. You know what institution has, according to all reports, significantly undermined its ability to counter sexual violence against kids in the last few months? It's Twitter!!!

It's the weekend, baby

It's pure Calvinball.

Katie ran the Space last night where journalists gathered and where Musk showed up and tried (badly) to defend the journalism bans.

Now Katie has been banned from using Spaces.

Talking to former Twitter trust & safety folks... and they note that *normally* under existing policy, accounts are supposed to get strikes for violating policy, not be immediately permabanned.

Remember how Elon said no content moderation policies have changed?

Well, I'd say... that's changed.
