startgg allowing you to copy tournament info over from a past event is one of the good features of that site tbh

it feels mad that Challonge doesn't have that despite being a much smoother exp for single-game events
preview of my little writeup on the After Hours games (you know I couldn't stop at just one)
I always write too many words and have to dial back, but I wouldn't change that if I could, I think
I've just published my first After Hours event!
Ehrgeiz is awesome and I want to play it with people. Bracket starts at 11PM CST (local time) and is capped at 16 entrants.

If we fill up before Monday, Jan 26, I'll extend the cap to 32.
I'm serious. Sign up at start.gg/ehrgeiz-ff26
They changed out the rom for Bloody Roar 2 on Arkadyzja for the JP version (Bringer of the New Age) instead of the US version (The New Breed) and the main problem is now the roms.json doesn't grab the right version anymore
I wrote up a post on this new event that I seriously hope people will join in - not right now though, holidays and all.

See you in January for Fighting Layer:

The Community Lab's newest event — Bring Your A+ Game!

NiGHTs is awesome. They made a Sonic for gay people
In the future, there will be a process to apply for a game on our stream. Everyone gets 15-20 minutes to present their game, including the following:

1. Basic facts about the game; title, developer, release year, console
2. Short summary of buttons and game mechanics – 5 minutes tops
3. Clip showcase of 5 clips, at least one from real match play
4. any other info you may want to share about the game; similarities to other games, etc.

Streams will run a total 2 hours plus a final decision by the same team that brings you tournaments - me, Rattz, StrictFilter, or whoever else is there at the time.
  • Casual Nights will be held every Saturday at 3PM EST/9PM CEST.

  • Introducing Bring Your A+ Game!

  • Our new event builds off my friend Ivy's idea for a "fighting game book club."

Bring Your A+ Game is our monthly game. It's a stream on the first Sunday of every month at 12PM EST... but since Jan 4th is so close to the holidays, we're just picking the first game.
