If a human woke up in an alternate reality where they were born the opposite sex would their mind break? - Lemmy.World

I see this question posed a lot, and it typically follows with people saying “I’d play with my boobs lmao” or “I’d do the helicopter” (assuming they’ll have a massive wang). Realistically though, in this scenario, would the human mind break into some sort of psychosis? Even if you’re transgender your body slowly morphs at the chemical level into a woman or a man over a long period of time. A second puberty as I’ve heard it referred to. This would give the mind time to adjust gradually to a new reality/brain/prospective seeing as how one’s brain slowly changes over time on sex hormones. If you were suddenly thrust into this situation would the human mind adapt or shatter at such a sudden reality shift? Thoughts?
