Video Stories are on our roadmap, but we are focusing on photos first.
It never went anywhere, goto a profile then tap the three dots on the top right menu (it may be hard to see on dark themes, a bug fix will be available on Android to fix this soon)
You will be able to disable Stories in the app and never see them!

Demand. We will make them easy to disable so you never have to see them again if you prefer. A lot of people do want them though.
Btw, you will be able to disable the Stories feature so you never see it if you prefer!
