Whenever I tap on "local," I think "a pint would be nice & maybe some football on the telly." But I don't drink beer or watch sports. And I'm not even British. "Federated" makes me think of Star Trek.

@Euphoria As someone who abhors capitalism/monopolies, I feel like I should be annoyed at Amazon swallowing everything up, but I really love Amazon so I can't seem to muster any outrage. 😞
@Euphoria Comixology has actually been around for a really long time - 10 years, perhaps (?), but they were acquired by Amazon 2 or 3 years ago.
And by "Star Trek" I mean everything pre-those Abrams monstrosities. And Enterprise. (I still love you Scott Bakula)
karabecause i read with my own two eyes an op-ed saying that the first couple waves of mastodon users were people who "couldn't handle opposing viewpoints" let me break it down for those who haven't figured it out yet:
it's not that we can't handle opposing viewpoints, it's that all of y'all keep treating being an asshole like some sort of ironic coolguy thing to do and we all find you insufferable and none of us can stand being around you
