@flexghost This means children of same sex parents can’t talk about their household. It restricts high school students from gaining information about sexuality that does not match the DeSantis ideal. Teachers are silenced when asked a legitimate question.
@JillWineBanks I heard you and appreciate your insight.
@rbreich It’s getting harder snd harder to live in Florida with all of these soul crushing, ridiculous restrictions.
@flexghost My daughter is a fourth grade teacher in Florida. I’ve seen her go from teacher of the year at her school to being so discouraged that she wants to quit teaching. She stays for the kids but the craziness is defeating. And parents have all the power. If they go to the principal, the teacher is reprimanded.
Happy #Caturday What do you mean that I can’t have more treats right now?
@peterbutler @msbellows @flexghost My daughter, a 4th grade teacher, says she is not removing materials that she uses for small group exercises that she bought with her own money. These materials are nationally approved and she has neither the time or resources to replace them. Her classroom library is next for the school approval police. I’m thinking she isn’t backing down.
@DidiQ My daughter is 4th grade teacher. All these little changes are starting to add up and she is beyond frustrated. But sometimes moving isn’t an option. Her husband owns a small business that isn’t able to move.
@Teri_Kanefield I read your piece and appreciate your position from the perspective of journalists. It was my birthday on the winter solstice. I put the same message on Mastodon and on Post to see who would respond. I received ten replies on Post and none on Mastodon. I think we are in early days of community building which I missed on Twitter. To me Post provides a more supportive experience at this time.
