I think defederating Threads is a huge missed opportunity for Mastodon to grow.

Imagine interacting with their users and letting them know that: you scroll posts without ads, your timeline is in chronological order, your client doesn’t spy on you, you only see what you want and no other content is pushed to your timeline, etc…

if I was a Threads users, I would move to Mastodon as soon as I find out 🙂

Threads attracts 30M users in 24 hours despite design flaws, privacy concerns

@mcg This is correct. My comment was about plastic bottles, not about general plastic waste. There probably just isn‘t enough political/public pressure.
@mcg and here‘s a documentary showing the process: https://youtube.com/watch?v=TrYRQxmMxns

@mcg I am 99% confident, as every source says that 93-94% of bottles get recycled and I‘ve been to multiple landfills and never seen plastic bottles there. There are also documentaries and YouTube videos showing the process of recycling.
@macrumors What a surprise.
@mcg @stux it‘s not. Other countries do it for decades now and it‘s working pretty well.
@stux Now I am curious how recycling works in the US. In Germany, almost every bottle (about 94%) get‘s recycled, including from Coca Cola.

It still takes a while before Meta(P92) joins the Fediverse and the recent times we have read a lot of things from both sides

Polls are not super reliable but maybe it will give a better overall picture of what you, the people using these platforms want

The result will not be the definite outcome for us but I do take it into heavy consider because I love you all very much!
