@Skipper49, after the martin's leave, most people clean and store the gourds. You can bring the rack within about 2 feet from the ground, unless you get a straight on hit everything is staying put, definitely need a square pole, I have round, a lot less expensive but they bend easily.
@Skipper49, normally no problems, if it's getting really windy you can lower all the gourds as far down as you want, square 3 inch poles are super strong. When the martin's are gone in the winter you keep it lowered, thanks!
