Trump is a lot like toe fungus. Disgusting, gross and won’t go away. But Harris pulled the sock off last night for everyone to see!
This is the main point I want everyone to talk about. The best mitigating effort for climate change is smaller farms that use drainage control and diversity with livestock integration. Unfortunately our food system is based on subsidies for export grain crops. This has led to all the problems we see, like CAPOS and their methane. In the picture from out my window see the water flowing from the rows to the ditch? No contours, key lines. Our fields are designed to remove water not use it.
I got through the first chapter but I don’t think I can continue. I believe that these dire predictions are likely true, but let’s talk about the facts of the models. I feel like I could read the whole book and not be able to say that I learned anything. It’s just not for me. #climate
So unfortunate that Biden didn’t stay with one term. How hard would it have been to come up with someone? Just imagine an Andrew Yang or a Pete Buttigeige up there, and there must be several people who would do much better than them.
Biden missed the opportunity to counter so many points. Especially the border. It’s MAGA republicans that have made any progress on the border impossible by stopping all legislation, even bi-partisan recommendations. The MAGA want mayhem on the border for political
The PCs are making a fuss about the date change of the election because they say it will allow liberals to get pensions. I will say the most unpopular thing. We need to pay and provide pensions to politicians. Asking an ambitious person who wants to help the system, to leave mid career for a temporary job is tough. To avoid corruption we need financially independent candidates. We don’t need retired business executives and sons of billionaires. We need real leadership from experienced people.
Assiniboine Downs in Winnipeg. The Peguis Band has done a great job of keeping this traditional venue alive for Manitobans. It is clean and well maintained.
If you live in Canada by a rail road track you are familiar with this sight. This is potash and agricultural chemicals. The production of this creates tens of thousands of jobs and is exported worldwide bringing wealth to Canadians. But this is essentially no different than a train full of tar sands sludge. The emissions from fertilizer use are damaging our water and creating climate change.
The author makes many observations about our world that I can’t disagree with. As someone who spent their life working and educated in Finance I find his explanations and historical references accurate. It’s the recommendations that are just too radical to be practical. Which is exactly as he predicted someone inside the system would react.
