Right now just building myself up by hiking as much as I can and doing as much research and reading as much as I can.
So, today I drove out to the NOC (Nantahala Outdoor Center) in the Nantahala Gorge, where the AT runs through. Here is a picture of the trailhead and I actually got to chat with a guy from the UK who had come from Georgia and had just stepped off the trail. While there, I browsed the outfitter store and watched the white water rafters. What a great day!
