@wooliex The dream of project Xanadu shambles on
@wooliex Counterpoint, no USian would ever be able to tell the cops what kind of car it was. "It has a big V? Volvo?"
@stephenjudkins I'd put it that right now no city wants to go first with battery busses. The tech just doesn't seem quite there. Seems like it would be worth it for the feds to step in and fund some larger project to get the kinks out.
@stephenjudkins Someday someone will come up with a proposal to lower the average summer temperature of Riyadh by 1ÂșC and it will happen.
@stephenjudkins I think the "magic" that will get geoengineering going is someone convincing some nation that their plan is worth it.
@stephenjudkins Great article. I wish the writer had dug more into the the observation from Pungoyiwi. Who is the "we" here? What groups can give consent to this work? Is the democratically elected body enough? I don't know the details of this community so I don't know, but it's a knotty problem.
@stephenjudkins What's the regulatory situation for a portable nuclear reactor? Is anyone at the NRC interested?
Trying to make some maps with R. Is the "sf" package the right way to go?
@DiegoBeghin It's crazy how opposite this is from the US. USians always believe they are invulnerable in their cars!
@stephenjudkins I think they would have done it in Dobbs if they wanted to. Why do something so radical if there's still the possibility that the GOP gets a trifecta in 24 and passes a national bill.
