@medium it seems your “for you” tab is not really working, it’s the only tab that keeps saying I’m offline…
Sometimes I struggle to understand the simplest things. 11 months of grinding, attempting to understand something. And today the lightbulb finally just went on. It was blinding.
I guess I should add various words, such as:
* cheaper than the cloud!
* sub-$1k cluster!
* over 300GB of RAM!
* less than 650W of power!
Yeah, yeah, don't ask how many CPU cores (or GPUs) it has... :)

Builtin Wifi seems to work as well. Took a bit of poking to get it flashed to something more standard than Chromeos. Now to find some sort of USB-C octopus like thing to power a bunch of these, a 16 port passive switch, maybe a cheap SATA SSD with a bit more space, and these should make a decent cheap cluster.
Picked up some HP Chromebox G2 for $13/each, pretty low 2 core 1.8GHz Celeron in them, but they work with 32GB of memory. 64GB boots, but only sees 32GB. Seems to run Ubuntu fairly well. Oh, and they power on with a USB-C power supply. 😎
