Did I nearly get thrown out of the party for shooting people with the bow and arrow? Yes, yes I did.
Also two dudes actually GREW moustaches and built a 15 foot long F-14 out of pipe and papier mache for their Maverick and Goose costume, it was so impressive I wasn't even mad.

Went to the Met today and saw the Catholic finery exhibit. There are lots, and better, reasons to hate the church, but seeing a Cardinals robe made from gold thread and pearls at a time when their adherents were literally starving to death is a visceral and immediate reminder of the rapacious greed of the Vatican.

I didn't bring enough shirts with me on this trip so I was panicking last night over the choice between ironing a previously worn, sweaty shirt and buying a new one in the most expensive neighborhood in the most expensive city in America, luckily it's Friday and nobody is around so I'm just owning being a little bit stinky.
