We’re terrible at marketing our own projects . . . except when we do a particularly good job of competing in food trivia.
This week’s NSP patron episode might be about Frasier Crane, but we hope *you’ll* be the ones listening.

Louisa: you can't be mad at me! I'm just a little guy!
Noah: I don't think that's what "death of the author" is
latest @NoSubsPlease's bonus ep is (unsurprisingly) cracking me up
on the latest @NoSubsPlease bonus ep, Louisa says that you don't have to be friends with your Pokemon, they can be your coworkers
and this is both true and breaking my brain a little bit
Noah here.
For all my general sentimentality, I'm a real grinch about people online. I find them generally self-satisfied, unwilling to step up, too enamored of looking cool to help do good in the moment.
So when I say that it is those same people absolutely crushed it, donating almost $5,000 for food banks across the US right before the holidays, you know I mean it. I'm unbelievably proud of what we've managed to do, but we did it with lots of help.
On to next year—bigger, better, earlier.

This is the kind of insight from Noah you're missing out on if you don't listen to our podcast No Substitutions, Please
I had to clip this while editing because it makes me laugh every time I listen
When we started the 1st Annual No Substitutions, Please Triviathon Fundraiser, Noah’s goal was to put his ability to be supremely annoying at the service of feeding people.
Which is exactly what he did, and boy, did people validate it. We raised nearly $4,500 for food banks in 21 areas—and we don’t have to be done yet!
If you’ve got cash burning a hole in your pocket, and you want to show those BlueSky users another thing or two, we’re still happy to take your donation!

That might seem like needless antagonism, especially considering Noah is himself a BlueSky user, but it’s not a joke.
We made sure to track how we knew each pledger, and without exact numbers to hand, something like 63% of our total funds raised came from the fediverse; of the remaining 37%, only 8% came from butterflies.
It’s a testament to what Mastodon can do on a good day, and we hope that that brings a smile to your face this Monday morning, because it sure does to ours.
