Honestly I'm surprised in general at how much freedom you get with the default origins to change a character's personality. Really helps with immersion.

My Red Prince will be a reformer, if he takes the throne back.

VERY glad that playing as the Red Prince in Divinity: OS 2 let's you subvert his whole "Lizard supremacist" spheal to an extent. Fantasy racism is so commonplace these days, it honestly gets on my nerves. I like the other aspects of the prince's story, such as going from savior to pariah. And lizards in general are cool. But the rest of it was kind of...icky. :P.

@Yoric @WilliamAdcock Fair enough. "Eastern" was more of a phrase I pulled out because it sounded better in my head than "Oriental," but I guess it's not really that much better, is it?

It's a difficult balance to walk, but one that we Western writers have to be careful about, especially given some of the more problematic aspects of the Cthulhu Mythos.

The operative word being "Oriental," instead of "Eastern" or "Based on Japanese Mythology" or something. It reeks of that kind of Western co-opting of culture that labels all of "The Orient" as one thing without understanding the cultural diversity of Asia.

I don't know about the rest of you, but when I see the phrase "oriental style campaign," that's immediately suspect.
