@nytpu @vertigo Something I could see preventing Read and Write in core, at least in their current forms, is the error type's use of alloc. It supports passing a heap-allocated custom error, and my understanding is core is supposed to exist where alloc isn't guaranteed. They'd probably have to have an associated type for the error in each trait instead, which some embedded IO crates do

@hexaitos My last one was a 14" so I definitely noticed it being smaller. Apparently the X220 was 12.5", maybe not that noticeable
