If you're in MA, please sign this petition! We are aiming to hit 10,000 signatures statewide to send a clear message to Maura Healey that gas is in the past.

Using gas to heat our homes and businesses is bad for our health and our climate. This is urgent for our planet and for communities currently facing expansion projects like Springfield and Longmeadow.

Gov. Healey- Declare No Future for Gas!

Gas is dangerous, polluting and expensive. Using gas to heat our homes and buildings is bad for our health and our climate. Gas companies, like Eversource, are profiting off of gas infrastructure expansion at the expense of ratepayers statewide! We envision a just and rapid transition away from gas to a future of clean heat powered by clean electricity. Our environmental justice and climate goals require it! We must stop gas companies from continuing business as usual at the cost of our health, safety, and climate future. This is urgent for our planet and for communities currently facing expansion projects like Springfield and Longmeadow. Our new Governor, Maura Healey, has made climate one of her main goals. That's why we are asking her to declare, by Earth Day, that there is no future for gas in Massachusetts. We urge Governor Healey to halt new gas system expansions until the state has a concrete plan for a just transition to a clean — and green — energy future.

Interesting proposal by @EversourceMA. If the big, for-profit utilities are building projects, this is a decent way to do it. Using their own existing sites, adding storage, boosting renewable generation & hopefully adding meaningful benefits to the EJ community. #PittsfieldSolarStorage #CrossingFingers #LetsDoThisRight

Yikes!! Someone give @colbertlateshow
an induction cooktop demo! We all thought he was smarter than this. His description of cooking electric sounds like my parents' 1980s electric resistance stove. #GasIsntHot #GasIsntCool

Eversource Gas has filed with the Energy Facilities Siting Board (EFSB) for approval to build its proposed “Western Massachusetts Gas Reliability Project”. They want to build a new “point of delivery (POD)” meter station in Longmeadow, a new 16” 200 psi pipeline beneath the streets of Longmeadow into Springfield to an upgraded regulator station in downtown Springfield.

This is not the time for more fossil fuel infrastructure!
