For some time, I have meant to get around playing this game, which has been sitting in my steam library untouched for some time. Between wanting to play some shorter games and getting the second game recently for cheap, I finally jumped at the chance to play this beloved, hidden gem of the PS2...

Why would they do this? For aesthetics, for nostalgia, for a new way to experience the stories, to keep the Pixel Remaster devs employed on projects that play to their strengths, to have additional SKUs to sell to the masses, whatever. There's already precedence for this with the 16-bit version...
I've been going back on a late 2000s, early 2010s run of games (on PC), and just wow... the image clarity is just night and day compared to modern games. No ghosting, no major dithering in shadows or hair. And, well... jaggies? Not really as bad as now either and pretty much no shimmering either...

I feel like a lot of people are missing out on this... GFN is easily the best PC streaming service out there, games look native while streaming and no other competitor comes close imo. However, it is worth to note that not every game is available via GFN because publishers have to opt into GFN...
