It's done! This is my new Wheel of the Year display, featuring eight of the invertebrates we see locally throughout the year. Mostly I used watercolour for this, with a bit of ink on some of the segments.

This was a very fun project, and it's going to hang out on our living room wall until next Spring, when I will hopefully paint or draw an even better one 😄

I wish liberals could understand that what's happening right now is one of the core reasons to defund the police.

When you build a militarized, unaccountable, out-of-control domestic army and give it unlimited funds, it will *always* be used by a right wing political movement to do a fascism.

The obtuseness of liberals is breathtaking. Even in this moment, they simply do not understand that they built or approved of the building of most of the weapons being turned against them.

I just realized that it's April 23.

That means it's the anniversary of the Farmville, Virginia Motion High School student strike.

What? You don't know about that?

Well, in 1951, Barbara Johns was fed up with the deplorable conditions in her segregated school, so she organized a strike. She was inspired by labor strikes.

After she and her classmates turned the rural town of Farmville upside down, she called in the NAACP.

As a child, I watched G-rated, family-friendly movies where Nazis were bad actually and people who refused to cooperate with them were heroes.

I think the grownups of that time were trying to teach the kids something.
