Moved to @Mycroft

Just of note:
I'm over at @Mycroft primarily. That's Mycroft at meow.social, because the link might not work.

I moved a while back, to gain access to the larger fediverse, and since haven't really done much with this account.

Reminder that Awoo.Space's primary goal is to operate an instance that deliberately maintains a small whitelist of instances they federate with, as a "safe space" (my words) against potential abuse out there in the fediverse.

It's not here as "the furry server". While a lot of furries are here, there are many other furry-oriented and furry-friendly instances out there that are more connected.

I'm lucky enough to not need the anti-abuse for my primary account.

Hey Awoo.spacers!

I just learned that awoo.space defederated with my main instance's account, @Mycroft. So if you were following it and stopped seeing updates, that's why.

Developers who re-used open source software in violation of license, to enable homebrew and "backup" content to be played on the Nintendo Switch, have implemented nasty DRM on their paid product.

Pirated piracy software has anti-piracy measures. https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2018/06/switch-pirates-dont-want-you-to-pirate-their-piracy-enabling-firmware/

Switch pirates don’t want you to pirate their piracy-enabling firmware

But anti-piracy hackers are hacking the piracy hack for themselves.

@noiob Hm, then. I don't know. I have an app that has permission to change my system's volume, both media and notification, so I'm sure the access is there somewhere. Maybe apps choose not to implement it, or it's difficult to implement so apps don't bother unless they really need to?
@raccoon Sounds improbable, but if all else checks out, that's gotta be it.

@raccoon please don't, I'm just trying to cover all the bases, even experts can get caught of guard by simple problems

though by first build I meant this being the first time all these parts are assembled new, as opposed to upgrading an existing cpu or mobo etc

@raccoon I'm sure all of the Good Folk are able to help in their own way

make sure all the proper psu cables are in, but looked ok in the video

"cmos clear" type jumper near the battery isn't set wrong

??? jorts?

@raccoon If this is a first build, make sure all packaging and protective stuff is removed between the cpu and the heat sink; should only be a little square of gunk that came on the heatsink, or a small dab of thermal paste you put on yourself

try it disconnected from the case, like sitting on the cardboard box the mobo came in. nothing conductive!

leave an offering of food out overnight to entice shoemaker elves to visit and fix it for you

different power supply?
