Just got my copy of @MyBuddyAndrew's new book!

My kid is a *bit* young for it, at 9 months old. But this is such a neat and (for Ruby) rare kind of project, that I just had to get a copy anyway.

Ruby/Rails folk: can you help me validate a hypothesis?

- There is a set of interesting problems that mid-sized (bigger than "rails new", smaller than Shopify) Ruby on Rails shops have
- These teams would benefit from information sharing more frequently than the big conferences
- There is value in creating a community, an ongoing async un-conference for interested people

If there's interest, I can run an experiment.

Recently I've published a Ruby on Rails Changelog explorer - Rails publishes the changes in various CHANGELOG.md, but it's hard to link back to the PR, and hard to follow up and scan it, so i've build a small static site that refreshes daily:

My favourite way to explain how large language models like GPT-3 work is that they're exactly the same idea as the iPhone predictive text keyboard, just a lot bigger

Which is a fun mental model to bring to the debate about whether or not they can achieve consciousness!

πŸ“’ I'm hiring a senior Rails engineer for remote full-time work. Should have some familiarity with full stack development and devops, including Kubernetes, Ansible. React + Rails integration on frontend.

Please email davetroy at gmail dot com if this sounds like you, and feel free to share with qualified candidates!
