Samantha Harvey's Orbital is a slim novel, but it's taking me forever to read because it's filled with language like this that demands slow reading and attention. It demands rereading. The sentences want to be inhabited.
I've never been interested in fungi and never imagined I'd participate in something called #FungiFriday. But a walk around my back yard after two rainy weeks in MD have led me here. The one that looks like a brain scares me.
My favorite pic of my two cats I've ever taken. This was for Black Cat Appreciation Day a couple of years ago, and obviously my gray cat was having none of it. #blackCat#CatsOfMastodon#blackcatappreciationday
I got to see The Sadies last night, the first time since Dallas Good passed away. They're a different band now, and it was gutting to hear some songs not in Dallas's voice. The image of him hanging over the stage made me so sad, too. But no denying they're still a great band, and Travis Good is a *phenomenal* guitarist. That Gretsch Country Gentleman sounded like five different guitars, sometimes in the same song. #livemusic
Was spinning some vinyl today and remembered that time I cranked Free Huey by the Boo Radleys and Brando freaked all the way out. #CatsOfMastodon#caturday
The Kooks put on a great show last night in DC--all my faves and a bunch of songs I'd forgotten I love. As my friend said, "I'm never buying GA tickets again years old." Those seats!! #livemusic
