Asked if being elected President or winning a Nobel Peace Prize was the most exciting thing that's ever happened to him Jimmy Carter responded, “when Rosalynn said she’d marry me — I think that was the most exciting thing.” 77 years later, they were still by one another's side when she passed. There will never be a time when we don't have some new technology to complain about that kids are using in school. Bring on the AI. Rather than resisting reality, let's use the power of AI as a tool to enhance teaching, learning and prepare our kids for the world they're actually going to enter after graduation.

Discussions and policies related to academics and AI continue to revolve around cheating/plagiarism. A significantly more productive conversation for educators would be to consider and determine how AI can improve instruction, assessment, and feedback to make teaching and learning better. It's not going away and kids need to learn how to use it. Just like spell check, grammar checking, the internet itself, etc. We aren't going backwards.

As a big fan of #BlackMirror, I found this season to be a bit of a departure from the show's ethos. Aside from "Joan is Awful," very little about technology and more straight Twilight Zone on whatever Mazey Day was smoking.
