Freedom of the press must not be switched on and off at will. The journalists below also can’t follow us any longer, comment, or critcize us. We have a problem with that Twitter. https://twitter.com/auswaertigesamt/status/1603689087969411072

24. Musk is concerned about privacy and safety

14. A free press is central to free speech.

But after reporter Linette Lopez wrote critical stories about Tesla Musk accusing Lopez of conspiring with short sellers to trade on insider information, which is a crime

Musk had no proof but an army of minions to harass Lopez

13. In China, Tesla reportedly sought to leverage the power of China's authoritarian regime to silence critics.

Tesla reportedly "asked Beijing to use its censorship powers to block" critical posts

Tesla’s Fall From Grace in China Shows Perils of Betting on Beijing

Elon Musk won advantages unheard of for Western businesses. Then came the reality check.

So, uh, this post went way more viral than anything I've ever posted here before, and my mentions were swamped... many with people asking questions.

I'm still sick with Covid (getting better, really!) but did try to help out with a few, and am thankful that tons of other people helped out with others long before I was there. But apologies if I don't respond...

26. More reporting from Gizmodo that Musk’s entire justification for the suspension of journalists is BS
25. UPDATE: Katie, who hosted the space, is banned from starting any spaces now, apparently https://twitter.com/katienotopoulos/status/1603886760437522433

Last night was about @[email protected] sending a message to journalists that he OWNS THEIR ACCOUNTS and journalists need to be mindful of not pissing him off.

The only appropriate response is to reject this kind of bullying.

Whatever happens, happens.

From an ethical and civic perspective it is important to treat Musk not as a terror and a threat but rather as a whiny little bitch who should be mocked endlessly.
There are a lot of people who have this bungled idea that treating people with mockery and contempt means not seeing them as dangerous or being indifferent toward them. That’s wrong. Just a total misunderstanding. Getting yourself worked up is not an action. Hyperventilating isn’t either. Don’t make yourself pathetic.
