PronounsShe/Her

im listening to a podcast ep and host is talking about how great it is ai can save him hours of research and he thinks the more you use chatgpt, the more it suggests relevant answers, and how if it doesn't know an answer it won't give it to you (???)

i really just am freaked out that so many people have just decided letting tech companies (not directly, but they do strictly control inputs and outputs of llms) autocomplete their every thought is fine and good

Tax billionaires until there aren’t any billionaires left.
I may be going a bit quiet and shifting focus over to @minalien - I don’t use much social media these days and I’m most interested in seeing & discussing art more than anything.
Now I'm basically just waiting until May 4th to see if I'll have to set up a VM to play Age of Wonders 4.

I'm surprised at how positive an experience dealing with my art tools has been switching to Linux today?

I've been getting comfortable in Krita lately and that's just as fantastic here. My Wacom display tablet Just Works, including 4k120Hz support and better out-of-box calibration than it had on Windows (I have no ideas why), and my Xencelab Quick Keys also Just Works appropriately.

This is probably the least painful Linux switch on my desktop machine that I've ever done.

I may regret this later, but for now I'm happy.

"Thank you for choosing FedEx" believe me lady I did not have a choice in this, or I'd never have chosen such an unreliable, garbage company.

istfg any time I get *anything* shipping that comes through the Redmond FedEx office it's automatically going to be a call to customer support because apparently the Redmond drivers are incapable of finding an address in downtown Bellevue (it's not like I'm in some hidden hermitage or something, I'm in DOWNTOWN BELLEVUE πŸ™„).

You know what? I've changed my mind. I don't just hate the way generative AI is being marketed and used in exploitative ways right now, I actually hate the very -idea- of it at a fundamental level.

Even if it were developed, trained, marketed, and used in an entirely ethical manner (spoiler, none of the big names are this), generative AI fucking sucks as a concept and I hate it.

I'm very rapidly going from "okay Krita's not as bad as I thought" to "okay Krita might be better for me than any of the alternatives right now" πŸ˜‚

I'll be incorporating it into my art study & practice alongside Clip Studio for sure, and see where things end up over time πŸ‘€

Nice try, but I wasn't born yesterday, Google.
