I am a proud Jewish American.

My father fled Poland in 1921 to escape poverty and antisemitism.

Those in his family who stayed were murdered by the Nazis.

Since childhood, I have known very well where antisemitism, racism, fanaticism and demagoguery lead.

So let me be clear.

Speaking out against the horrific and inhumane actions of Israel, and its extremist leader, Benjamin Netanyahu, is notantisemitic.

Speaking out about the dangerous and destructive role that Israel plays in shaping US foreign and military policy is notantisemitic.

@cdarwin Well said! Considering what happened during the Holocaust, if anyone should be opposed to what I being done to the Palestinian people, it should be anyone of Jewish descent. My great-grandparents by marriage were Holocaust survivors. I think they would be horrified by the atrocities being committed by netanyahu. 💔😭😭😭

Hitler and his little living room project kicked off by invading Poland in 1939, by the time the war ended 20% of the population had died to that war.

This includes 3 million Polish Jews and a further 1.8 million of the population, meaning that Adolf killed off a chunk of Catholics as well.

People may think they’re not affected by crazy fascist because they’re not in a “target group”. This sentiment is a mistake.

@cdarwin cool, but why wasn't he against say... the first nakba? He's got a pretty bad voting track record on Israel. It's good that he speaks out now, but he seems to point to Netanyahu as the main issue, but Netanyahu is not the start of racist attitudes in Israel.
