While building his residence, Count Schönborn was also interested in designing a railway connection. The building of the station itself resembles the old Schönborn palace, built in a style that combines Romanesque and Gothic architecture. It was built together with the palace. Like the main residence, the station building is decorated with stained-glass windows and bas-reliefs with the symbols of the Schönborns.

The second ghost of Schönborn Castle is a woman in black.
It is said that the earl (not the one who built the castle, but his son) was very jealous. He listened to the sorceress and arranged an inspection. In Schönborn Castle, the stairs partially went astray. Fireplace and chandelier. Part of the furniture and many valuable items were given to the Uzhhorod Museum of Local History.

Fortunately, the building was not bombed during World War II. In 1946, when Schönborn Castle became the property of the Soviet Union, it was not turned into another warehouse or archive. Замок Берегвар — романтична резиденція графів Шенборнів. Сьогодні вона використовується в якості санаторія. У парку перед палацом можна напитись мінеральної води.

Before the start of World War II, the Reich Minister of Aviation of the Third Reich, G. Goering, wanted to buy the castle. He was ready to pay any amount to the then president of Carpathian Ukraine A. Voloshyn, but the president refused the minister. The count left the castle in 1944 forever. The house in which the count spent his youth, he dreamed of until his death.

Санаторій "Карпати": замок Шенборнів Берегвар

The peculiarity of Schönborn Castle is that it was built according to the astronomical calendar. There are 365 windows, like the days of the year + 1 bricked up for a leap year. 52 rooms, like weeks in a year. I entered for 12 months. The corners of the castle are decorated with 4 towers corresponding to the seasons. The spiers are decorated with weather vanes and chimes, and a bell is installed on one of the towers, which strikes every hour.
