I wish this was fiction...
This 73 year old woman went to a protest yesterday by myself. My very comfortable friends were not interested, my son was working so I went on my own. I decided to pass on the HUGE demonstration in downtown San Diego (estimated at 61,000) and went to Del Mar/Sorrento Valley because I knew it would be smaller The Hands Off demonstration I attended in April was way too intense for me, even though it was joyous.
It was a good decision. I participated, I was welcomed by strangers and we were supported by 99% of the passersby.
This is what democracy looks like.
Gray but still involved.
I attended the San Diego Hands Off protest yesterday.
Here are a few pictures. My son, his lovely wife and a dear nurse buddy were there as well. Don't have the official number, but the estimate has been as high as 20K.

How I am spending New Year's Eve:
No designated driver needed.

Just got my final Christmas present.
1/2 cord of firewood. I have generous people in my life and I am so lucky to have them. Life is good.
There is beauty even when life is in turmoil.
I found a sweatshirt from Fall of 2020.
It shows signs of wear, but the sentiment still solid.

I found a new friend on a walk today.
