Bingo! Ok, so many little details in terra to get what I wanted. BUT LOOK! One coast line! I have extracted a plausible coastline!

Party coastline!!!

(and other stuff like waves, rock reefs, and swimming pools)

Next step: trying to get the contour tool to give me just the big contour line at 0 NDWI.

I'm talking about assessing access to heath care with R, Valhalla, QGIS, OSM, and US Census data at #foss4gna on Tuesday at 2:30!

You know I've got maps and diagrams in that slide deck! And I'll talk about how this workflow is applicable to so much more than one question.

Join me at @foss4gna #foss4gna FOSS4G North America to learn how to improve your map making skills using QGIS! 1:00-4:00 on Monday, Oct. 23! We'll make a map of lake monsters to learn about the art and science of good visual communication. 🐙 #gischat

FOSS4G NA Baltimore 2023 Schedule

First day back after much-needed time off. I brought a lemon button fern that I grew from spores and a maidenhair fern to brighten up my space. The ZZ that was here before the pandemic has quadrupled in size at home and won't fit in my cube anymore.
Cadmius says we can only clean pomegranates for grenadine if he keeps my lap. I think I'd better try to coax him into a quilt or both of us will be sticky.
And not just cookies! I learned how to make fruit mincemeat pies and used persimmons and pomegranates from my backyard and citrus from the neighbors, along with dried fruit. They are so good
Taking some time off from work has resulted in a lot of baking.
