Total eclipse of the Moon tonight! Ottawa peeps will have to catch it just before sunrise. Look west towards the setting Moon. Totality starts around 5:20 EST, and the Moon sets at around 7 AM - You won’t see all of it, but if you have a clear view of the horizon you will see all of totality.

Had the Dob out tonight, with the fancy StarSense software to help find things. It's finally feeling like I know what I'm doing, and the software is performing as advertised.
Just a short session, but I spotted Jupiter, Saturn, the Moon, Albireo, and M31. Light-polluted city skies lowered my expectations!
I'm just into looking through the eyepiece, so here's a slightly out-of-focus shot taken with my phone held up to the eyepiece 😄
