@DesCoutinho @audreytruschke I understand what you have said but sites much older than Ramayana's timeline have been uncovered in India and other parts of the world. I want a historian's take on this. Do you guys believe Ramayana is anything more than an epic? Does any historic evidence of King Ram and his wife and family exist? Kings in India (and around the world) are pompous beings who like to leave their mark on history. Any structure he built, any record of his birth etc.

@audreytruschke I know I'm not on time and maybe breaking rules by posting another question but I really want to ask you this question. Did the events of Ramayana really occur in history. Are they even based on real characters? Did Ram, Sita, Ravan really exist and were they the same people as mentioned in the Ramayana..
@Lakshya I somehow feel inside my gut that the verdict will be in favour of the mandir
