Being “bound by law” barely matters either. They’ll do it anyway and just pay a really minor fine and continue to do it anyway.
Well yea, they don’t mention the fediverse because none of the oligarchs that fund their employer own it, so they have no reason to promote it at all.
Probably because it’s historically generated a ton of traffic and they’re trying to fluff up their numbers to hide the aftermath of their mistakes.
Hilarious that Huffman openly admitted that Reddit “isn’t profitable” (somehow) and they have to squeeze 3PAs out to try to make up for that, but apparently they found spare funds in the budget to pay spambots to keep reposting content to keep things from going barren.
I had wanted a Deck for a long while and finally used this sale as my excuse to go for one. I figure it’ll be nice for being able to play games while lying in bed or on the couch since I spend enough time sitting at a desk most days for work and don’t really want to spend the evening also sitting ay a desk. Also arrived at the perfect time yesterday, so I was able to change out the SSD and get everything reinstalled before a leg surgery today that 100% means I won’t be able to comfortably sit at my computer for the next two weeks at least.
@Oshka
Ah, fantastic. Thank you very much! :)

Sorry for the dumb question, but how do you add an avatar/profile pic in kbin? I haven't been able to find a spot to add one, but it looks like there clearly is a way to since so many people have them. I've searched all through the settings and just... can't find the spot to do it.

I feel like I should feel bad that I was able to figure out which copy-pasta this was after the first sentence.
I imagine it does. You’re still signing in and interacting with the platform, so it still likely counts.
Kinda like how Apple often makes terrible decisions that everyone hates, and then every other company follows suit because it actually worked and it’s been normalized now. Musk made all sorts of garbage decisions and didn’t lose critical mass of users, so now every other social media company is gonna follow suit now that the terrible ideas have been “normalized” by one of them.
