Whoever invented round checkboxes (!) has no justification but "I think squares are ugly".
Making things "nice" is why we can't have nice things.

Europese Groenen:

I’m amazed by people who keep using new, "free", VC funded apps without a clear business plan.
For instance, when I read these "Our Team" and "Support" sections I read another privacy disaster waiting to happen. Another product you like to use, that will be sold to any data hungry corporation in the future. Why do people keep on using and promoting such "businesses"?
Whilst enjoying my staycation, someone notified me I’m on the HackerNews homepage with https://telemetry.timseverien.com. The point of that project was to make people aware, so I’m exceptionally happy with it being on HN.
It’s a shame many projects are opaque about telemetry. You can’t opt out of something if you don’t know you can. So yeah, I felt we needed some awareness.
Anyway, the discussion on HN is fascinating. Give it a read: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=35458974
