I am a totally blind mom to children that all make me pull my hair out in some form or another! I'm a huge daredevil and will try almost anything once just to say I did. My interest outside of my kids when I have time is reading, singing, music and skydiving.
Bah, I'm not doing something right to get this migrating thing going, so just meh! lol, going to delete this account at some point so please if you wish to still follow me, switch over to @MayAnderson2022
Hey there everyone. Just in case I can't figure out this migrating thing, please follow @MayAnderson2022
I need to figure out how to migrate because I'm thinking of doing so regarding this account. It was a great instance to start with, but I find myself more on one of my others.

It always makes me so happy when I randomly come across image descriptions from people, especially on the federated timeline.

To those who add image descriptions, thank you so much! It goes a lot further than I think most people realize and/or consider. It helps people like me, who can't actually see the image, imagine what it may look like. The more detail in the description, the better, though any description is a massive enhancement to our social media experience.

To those who don't add them? Please start doing so. You are making your content inaccessible to people who may not be able to see the content. This makes entire parts of your post completely inaccessible. Sure, there is software to generate a description of what it may be, but nothing, absolutely nothing replaces human generated alt text.

I'm starting to really enjoy pinafore. At first I didn't really like it because I didn't know about the keyboard shortcuts, and thought it was clunky and slow. The keyboard shortcuts are easy to use though once you figure them out. Browsing posts reminds me strongly of moving through messages in discord, at least when you're in NVDA's focus mode. I also like being able to press numbers, to switch between different timelines and tabs within pinafore. I think whoever made pinafore did it right, at least from an accessibility standpoint.
@Khronos and now that you've said that, better watch out, lol
@Khronos Whew, luckily my boys don't know about those things yet. They got these because my 6 year old got to play with one during music class at school and came home saying he wanted one.
Hmm, would anyone know why an instance local timeline would not pull up for tweesecake? I have one instance where I can't not get local to show. @app
@jamminjerry2021 I said it was operator error, but I think I'll just blame mastodon because I can instead, lol
@jdking92 hahahah, now I do, yep.
