At hot days like these I appreciate my portable De Longhi Aircondition. They call it Pinguin.
I do not need a pat on the head. I need apps that guarantee to have 0 notifications ('Did you know we have a new feature...'), 0 ads and 0 GUI remakes without my permit. I learn every day new things but I prefer to not participate in this 'reinvent the wheel efforts' (we have frontend devs, so they should do something).
Goodreads.. a site I despise. My guts tell me that it is not good to hang out there. Yes, I am terribly biased here, since the people that introduced me to goodreads were the 'look I read 50 books this year'-challenge people. I am from the kindred of people who get offended when the amazon kindle tells us 'You got a silver medal for reading a full book this month' - I do not need a pat on the head like a amateur.
Back in the days (-15 years) we (me and my local friends) talked about cool stories (SW, ST, GoT, LotR, HP...) nowadays we talk about franchises on the net. And since arround that time coincidentally the quality of said story universes went down - coincident?

Can someone really knowledgable update me on the running Series from GRR Martin? Seems like they are just shy of running also out of source material -- which is.. pretty insane.

For context: I am a watcher of the series converted in to a bookfan of the original book series but after the last release in 2011 I lost interest in the franchise alltogether and never ever watched the last 2-3 seasons (that seemed to be good instinct in hindsight, hmmm?).

Boy, older folks told me years ago how it is a shame that one can't stay updated on everything on enjoys (books, movies, games, events, ...) once one is an real adult with responsibilities. Now it is 15 years later and it is TRUE taht I do have less time especially to watch Tv series. But as long as I find time to learn Polish to jest fajnie dla mnie.
This super hot weekend gave me some much needed time to code arround in Python and get updates on my favorite stories I neglected (like ISOIAF).
Latetly I learned about the life action remake of Avatar (the anime). Imagine my surprise - the existing series IS a true work of art - for what a remake? Yes, yes. For milking the cow, I know. That is 100% legit, since nobody is forced to watch anything. But, and I did not watch nor will watch the remake, it seems like this series has some plot issues. Which seems common for a whole bunch of these remakes. However, I won't actively monitor that will happen here. Whoever is happy with it - cool.

"Yet when our world finally comes to understand the power and danger of code—when it finally sees that code, like laws, or like government, must be transparent to be free—then we will look back at this uncompromising and persistent programmer and recognize the vision he has fought to make real: the vision of a world where freedom and knowledge survives the compiler."
